inspired, artistic

I have not uploaded anything for a very long time.

I will now rectify this matter.

Background info:

These are doodles inspired by [info]nymous_fic's Titanic Crossover fics (there are two, and I seriously urge you to bugger off and read it, because those two fics have changed the way awesomesauce is made. SERIOUSLY). It's KHR's Dino and Kyouya, and the rest of them basically cameos, acting out a funnier version of that monster blockbuster movie, Titanic. Me saying it was a monster blockbuster does not mean I love it to death. It just was a blockbuster movie, however you cut it. But her fics, the Titanic storyline superimposed with the sheer crack of KHR, is so great that even if you hated the movie you will love the fic. Yeah.

Major pimpage right there, but I mean every single word.

Why are you still reading this without buggering off to read those fics??

Oh, you have? Okay then. On to my doodles.

Oh, please keep in mind that I fairly suck at coloring stuff, so please try not to cringe when you look at my color combinations. And yes, I tried watercolor. Not that bad but not awesomesauce either, hn.

Kyouya was not meant to be crossdressing, but since he played the part of Kate Winslet (Rose), and turn of the century clothing is just too much fun to draw, here he is. With that hat with feathers. Yes. This is probably how Mukuro imagines "his allouette". (done on not for watercolor paper, as I later found out when I used watercolor for experimentation. Inked with Rotring tech pen  .02 and .03)

because what I promised the author was just doodles of the characters posing in turn of the century clothes and WTF moustaches. I held off on the moustache here, but heard that sideburns were pretty wicked back in the day, so I settled for that (again, Kyouya in drag. Sorry. I couldn't help it. Hibari-mama probably forced him to do it). The whole thing wouldn't fit into my scanner so cut off at the sides not intentional. The wrinkles on the paper not intentional as well, as I had unwittingly SAT on this particular drawing when it was still in pencils. Yes. I forgot it was there on my bed and I accidentally sat on it for a long time. Sorry guys. (done on watercolor paper, with watercolor and tech pen outlines).

I promised WTF moustaches, and so here they are. Glued onto the faces of the captain and his first mate. Not that kind of first mate.

I had fun, did you?

Oh! Oh oh oh oh OH! oh my god. Where do I even START-- What can I possibly say that will accurately express what I am feeling right now. I am alternating between squawking in glee and bursting into tears (of joy). I just. This is amazing. Amazing doesn't even begin to cover it. There are no words. Hibari, Hibari, Hibari, what are you wearing, that hat, that tie, those lapels, your hand-- so glorious. And ohmygoodness Hibird. How dashing, how absolutely endearing, I want to sit on a tree branch with you and discuss philosophy in the moonlight. I am struck-- just struck, I don't think I can even. finish this sentence coherently. Hibari's face, his expression. Oh oh oh. This is the bursting into tears phase-- s-sobSOB.

And Dino. In suspenders. Suspenders suspenders SUSPENDERS be still my heart, and those boots, those boots! I just-- aldsjal;dadla Dino. He even has pretty Dino-lashes... !! And Hibari, so ladylike, so dainty-looking! It suits him, he was made for portraits and crossdressing. AND ENZIO. Enzio, that is the best face ever, let us discuss philosophy in the moonlight as well, you, Hibird and me.

And AHAHAHAHA, Ryohei, you're so wonderful, WHAT AN EXTREME POSE, such grace. He and Yamamoto look frightening good with WTF-mustaches, h-how does that work. I love it to bits <-- understatement.

I am so awestruck right now. Overwhelmed and reverent and awkward I'm sorry I'm sorry, but oh my god. There is so much more to say, so much so much. I JUST FEEL SO-- gah. oh my heart. I'm going to add this to my memories so I can come back whenever to ogle at my leisure.

And. Thank you so much for this. Thank you thank you thank you. I don't even know what to do with myself except flail at the monitor, and at you, and just. Thank you so much, you are so so beautiful and talented, and I am now spoiled rotten by you. I do not even regret plaguing the world with that fic, if it led to this. ;-;

THIS COMMENT IS SO EPIC IT RENDERED ME INCOHERENT FOR A DAY.

So my reply comes a day later.

We are both awestruck at each other (me: cccould this be l-l-love?? you: only if you're wearing suspenders, boots and a wicked WTF moustache. me: oh...)

It is a labor of love. A fanart of a fanfic. The ultimate ego-trip haha. SPOILED ROTTEN WAS MY PLAN, SO YOU'D BE obliged TO WRITE ANOTHER FIC IN THE SAME VEIN (not really hinting, no...) ahahaha. Extreme.

Let's all sit on a branch while you philosophise with dapper Hibird and suicidal Enzio as I re-read your fanfic with EXTREME alacrity. It's that awesome.

(Yamamoto looks like Luigi from Mario brothers, but fuck me if it doesn't work out for him, and for Ryohei, for that matter)

.......... MY GOD, SELF. What is this. WHAT IS THIS. Tardiness. I fail I fail I fail.

I'm sorry. I love you even without suspenders, boots, and a WTF-moustache! MY LOVE GOES DEEPER THAN THAT. Will you love me still despite the lateness of my comments, is another matter, though. :(

I am still in awe of your coloring. I am still in awe of you, period. This might soon evolve into creepy hero-worship. You have been forewarned.

(HE DOES. Yamamoto should probably adopt this look throughout the rest of the series, copyright infringement be damned.)

As the one who forced persuaded [info]nymous_fic writing Titanic/Reborn, I'm happy seeing this. XDD Keep up the good work.

I had more relevant replies in my head, but my fingers really wanted to type:

I really like this artwork, especially since watercolor is a difficult medium to work with. The way that Dino and Hibari are drawn have more realism to them than a lot of the fanart I've seen around the web. And details! Oh the details are so beautiful!! I love the early 1900s fashion style!

Awesome work!

YES watercolor is a b*tch to use isn't it? But it gives such a soft texture, so it's best for pseudo-portraiture. And who doesn't love the early 1900s fashion sense? The foppery!

Thank you!
